ONE OF THE THINGS I HATE MOST IS TO FAIL TO KEEP A COMMITTMENT, BUT RECENTLY, I HAVE FAILED A FEW.  PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND PRAY FOR ME.  BB

blog

Afew days ago, several of my family members, including three of my siblings from South Carolina, some of their children and my wife along with children from Texas and SC met in Murphey, NC for a reunion.  One day, many of us loaded into five vehicles and made a tour of cemetaries where family members are buried.  We visited the graves of my grandfather, Rev. J.R.V. (Bud) Hamilton, my grandmother Rebecca Arlesia, aunts, uncles, brother, sister, cousins and distant relatives.  We then visited the great Hiawassee dam, which is a part of the TVA project and is nearby to where I went to school as a boy.  We then visited other beautiful sights, but the high light of the day was on a little dirt and gravel road that runs from Tellico Plains, TN to Robinsville, NC.  It is a monument erected where a little Baptist church sat many years ago.  The monument reads "Sight of Haw Knob Baptist Church Where many souls were saved.  Pastor Rev. Bud Hamilton."  There also appears the name of the man who erected the monument, which I can't remember.

I was very affected by that monument.  I don't think my grandfather ever pastored the church, but many people use the terms Pastor, Evangelist, Minister and Preacher  as one and the same.  I do know he preached a revival there and I do know it was in December, 1925.  The church gave him a Bible , which I recently gave to my oldest grandson.

Six of us Circuitriders went to that area a few years ago, but never located the monument.  We were just a few miles from it, but did'nt know the exact location.  Since I have seen it, I think about it a lot.  I think of my grandfather riding an old horse all the way from Liberty, NC to Haw Knob.  There are hills on that road that are hard for a vehicle to maneuver, and there wasn't even any gravel back then.  I think about him making that long ride on a horse.  It makes my 22 mile drive in a nice car to church seem like nothing.

Just across the road from the monument is a little mountain stream where I can visualize "Pa" baptizing people in that cold water.  That area is now part of The Cherokee National Forrest with trees towering into the air.  I don't what it was like 87 years ago, but I do know my "Saddle Bag Preacher-Pa" was there preaching the Gospel.  Thank God for my heritage!

RE: blog

The most wonderful thing about life is living.  Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life."  Every day is a new adventure, and everyday is a new challange.  Some days are for learning and some days are for practicing what we've learned.  I have found, I could spend days, maybe even weeks, regretting my past and living in defeat, but I choose to live in victory.  I cannot relive the past.  I cannot right the wrongs.  I have confessed it all to Jesus and He has put it under His precious blood, and cleansed me from every sin.  This week, I turned 75, I have a very precious wife who thinks I'm a very special man, I have wonderful children and grandchildren, even great-grandchildren, a great church to Pastor, and a multitude of friends.  Most of all, I have a Savior who loved me and gave himself for me.  Yes, I am blessed!

caring for the CircuitRider

I read an article from (bible.org) about a circuit riding preacher who was emaciated and sickly because he had very little to eat, but his horse was well feed and well cared for.  When the preacher was asked why he was in such poor condition while his horse was well fed, he replied, "I care for my horse.  You care for me.  What an indictment against the church!

Brothers and sisters, we need to take care of men who travel the roads and oversee our ministry.

The next time you fill your bike for $18.00 or your car for $50.00, just think.  It costs them the same amount.  The next time Pop visits your chapter, at least feed him and Lucy and fill their tank with gas.  Meantime, send them a love offering.  We must care for them!

Circuit Rider Conduct

    2 Cor 6:14-7:1

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

I have no authority to pull anyone's Colors in Circuitriders, but if you can't live up to your colors, you should pull them off and turn them in!  If you are presenting yourself as a Circuitrider, and you are not living up to the bylaws, you should have enough self respect to turn them in.  I'm not setting myself as a judge of anyone, but there is a Judge who will judge us all.  Every full patched member of Circuitriders is supposed to be a minister of The Gospel.  That means we respect God, His kingdom and His people.  If we wear His Name, we should be filled with His Spirit, and if we are Spirit filled, we won't be disrespecting the leadership, disrespecting the ministry and disrespecting our Savior.  Every Circuitrider should live above reproach and every chapter officer should be a "Man Of God" in every sense of the word!  I have said it before, "Circuitriders is not just about motorcycles and tattoos".  We wouldn't need Colors for that!  We're a ministry!  Too many good men (and women )have worked and sacrificed for this ministry!  We should at least not desecrate the Patch!  That's just how I feel.

LIVEN IT

THERE'S A TIME, AND THERE'S A PLACE
FOR EVERY MAN TO SHOW HIS FACE,
AND LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT HE BELIEVES.

WHETHER HIS STATUE IS SHORT OR TALL,
HE CAN STAND THROUGH IT ALL.
AND DEAL WITH EVERYTHING HE RECEIVES.

OTHERS MAY FAINT AT HIS SIDE,
HE WILL TAKE IT ALL IN STRIDE,
AS HE ENCOURAGES THEM TO ADVANCE ONCE AGAIN.

ARROWS WILL CERTAINLY FLY,
AND SURELY SOME WILL DIE,
BUT THE WARRIOR WILL FIGHT THROUGH THE PAIN.

OUR SAVIOR IS IN THE LEAD,
SNOW WHITE IS HIS STEAD,
AND HE HAS NEVER FOUGHT IN VAIN.

SO HOLD THE BANNER HIGH,
YOU SHALL NEVER NEVER DIE
BUT RETIRE WHEN THE TRUMPET SOUNDS THE CALL.

WHEN WE LAY OUR WEAPONS DOWN,
AT THAT ANGEL'S TRUMPET SOUND
WE SHALL BE VICTORIOUS ONE AND ALL.

Officer's meeting.

Brothers and Sisters,
I think this was the best officer's meeting I have gone to.  Thank you for coming to our church.  I pray you felt the freedom to worship there, and that our people were warm and friendly to you.  They were very impressed with Circuit Riders, and with Bro. Doc's message.

I do so appreciate Robert and Linda McCurdy for all of their help.  They made it possible!

I am thankful for our new Drifter, Waylon Piercy!  He is what I vision a Drifter to be!  He has my continued prayers.

Having Bro. Pop and Sister Lucy in our home was a pure pleasure!  Thank God for their sweet spirit!

Looking forward to continued service with all of you!

May God bless you all!
Bill (Pa) Hamilton
